Jonathan Rubin
Prior to joining Kei Advisors, Rubin was CEO of BIGBOXPLAY, a company that was formed in 2015 to address increasing concerns over excessive use of digital devices by children and the adverse impact they may have on their learning, development, and social skills. BIGBOXPLAY sold “life-sized” play systems that capture kid’s timeless love for building imaginary forts and playing in cardboard boxes.
Prior to BIGBOXPLAY, Rubin was Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Financial Planning for DIRECTV before retiring at the end of 2013. Rubin began working in Investor Relations for the Company in 1994 and in early 2008, he was promoted to Senior Vice President while also assuming responsibilities for both Investor Relations and Financial Planning. In addition to being responsible for corporate financial planning, his other primary responsibilities were to communicate DIRECTV’s strategies, financial results and business operations to the investment community. He was also responsible for the Company’s quarterly earnings releases, investor/analyst conference calls, the Annual Report and related SEC filings. Over a 20+ year period, Rubin developed and communicated effective strategies with 4 separate CEOs—each representing new ownership control over DIRECTV—helping drive more than a ten-fold increase in the DIRECTV stock price, while also winning several IRO awards with Institutional Investor.
After receiving a B.A. in Business from Michigan State University in 1978, Rubin attained his MBA from the University of Southern California in 1982.
